A new week and when things don't go according to plan

The new week has brought some delight and dislike at the same time. I shall reveal the good news first: we have found a home! YES! And I am so, so happy! It's in a lovely area and it's got plenty of room for everyone plus it has a fireplace, it's always been a dream of mine so I'm over the moon!
Sometimes though things don't all go according to plan and as it often happens when one thing (finally) starts to spin in the right direction another will inexorably go wrong. Our plans for the weekend went up in the air when my son got sick on Friday followed by his younger sister on Sunday, poor darlings! I just want them to get better and enjoy their break. This flu is a five day business, it starts with a dry cough and a temperature and goes on from there. It's not fun. One needs to keep warm, eat soup and take vitamins. The weather hasn't been that great, just rainy, grey and pretty chilli too. It looks a bit better today though, at least it's not raining.
At the moment "the move" occupies the majority of my thoughts as I am faced with two jobs, a stimulating one and a depressing one. The former being placing and organising furniture in my new home - just on plan at this stage - and the latter (less exhilarating one) being sorting through our stuff and (yes) de-clutter.
Well do I need to say that I am in need of a big injection of life and inspiration at the moment? I need to recharge my batteries...badly...we all need a holiday around here but need to wait just a little big longer - planning to go away in September :)

I found inspiration in these images today, gorgeous and immaculate interiors/vignettes with lots of style.
Oh and isn't that view just to die for? (That is where I would rather be right now)

all images honestlywtf

Hope you are all keeping warm - if in my part of the world :)

Take care,

Claudia xo

  3. Congratulations! I mean, for all the good stuff you mentioned.
I too one dream of having a fire place crackling away on cold nights. There are a few homes in my area with fireplaces. I sometimes step out and take a giant whiff at night. I go back inside and imagine for a few moments that I actually have a fireplace.

  6. Oh poor little kids - hate it when they get sick. Congrats on the other hand with finding a new place, so exciting indeed.
We have the worst 'Summer' ever (or it mirrors last years) - with temperatures reaching a scorching 16 degrees. So we too are wrapping up warm - hoping for some sunshine. Sending you some coziness from here - good luck with the de-cluttering, massive job, so get a cup of tea on the ready :)

  7. We don't envy you the job of de-cluttering... sometimes we want to pretend we're moving just so that we can go through the closets and cupboards! So exciting you found a perfect home and hope the kiddies are on the mend. Have a great rest of the week, Claudia.
