Wednesday inspiration / poetry

The Invitation
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dreams, for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life’s betrayals or have become shrivelled and closed from fear of further pain! I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it, or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own, if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, to be realistic, to remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself; if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul; If you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see beauty even when it’s not pretty, every day, and if you can source your own life from its presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, “Yes!”
It doesn’t interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up, after a night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done to feed the children.
It doesn’t interest me who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you, from the inside, when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.

A trip to the gallery

Looking for inspiration?
The Art Gallery of NSW is THE place for you
Here's a taste of what to expect:

"Three studies from the Temeraire" by Cy Twombly

3 of 9 panels "Lotus Born" by Tim Johnson

photos taken with my iphone (not doing much justice to the artwork I'm afraid - apologies)
it's definitely worth visiting

And now on a different note
The two things I loved this week (apart from the gallery):
1) ~ Design sponge at home ~ by Grace Bonney
(of course) packed with gorgeous images and great ideas its a fabulous book (if you are like me and you love great, unusual, unconventional interiors, you'll love it)

and 2) my cherry blossom tree...

in flower...so, so pretty :)

Have a fantastic week-end
(If you are in Sydney enjoy the beautiful warm weather)

Take care,

Claudia xo

inspire me monday / tangled meets HP

Can you start the week with a smile?...

& Today's quote:
“Dumbledore understood Ron’s importance in the trio. He wasn’t the most skilled, or the most intelligent, but he held them together; his humour and his good heart were essential.” —JKR
It's amazing what she has created, apart from the wonderful and magical world every child knows and loves to read about, she continues to give through her endless new initiatives such as her (newish) website Pottermore where HP's fans can learn more about their favourite characters, be sorted into houses and even get their own wand! I tried to register my son a couple of weeks ago and I wasn't able to, there is a waiting list (!) I admire her, she is just unstoppable.
With her in mind my aim this week is to focus and get started on some of my new projects - wish me luck :)

Wish you all fantastic week

Take care,

Claudia xo

inspire me monday / cool grey

I think grey is so versatile, gorgeous, elegant...do you agree?
I could happily live with grey at home...very cool indeed...At the moment it just reigns supreme in my wardrobe though (need to re-embrace colour again now that spring is here...it's time to re-organise my summer/winter clothes)

I hope that you are having a great Monday and that the weather is lovely where you are - the sun is shining here in Sydney (it's going to be warm today, mid 20's, so happy!)

Take care,

Happiness is...

pinterest

google

love the image above...it's so innocent, untroubled, beautiful...

pinterest

I'd like the above quote in my office or on a wall at home...a kind reminder for those less joyous days...

On a different (happiness) note...
It's Spring today! Finally...I'm so happy...
I went for a walk in my garden
and came back with...
this orchid branch (saw it lying on the grass it must have broken...maybe
one of my children knows something about it...)
couldn't leave it there...it's just lovely and it's now sitting on my sideboard :)

it makes me happy!

wish you all a wonderful first day of Spring :)

Take care,

Claudia xo
